Live Drummer – Musical, Reliable, Groove-First

I’m a professional drummer with over 35 years of live and studio experience, based in Reading, UK. My playing is all about feel, flow, and musicality — I serve the song first and foremost, bringing consistent time, dynamic sensitivity, and a deep pocket to every performance.

Whether it’s live gigs, tribute shows, fly dates or function bands, I’m known for being reliable, well-prepared, and easy to work with. My drumming is rooted in the groove-driven legacy of players like Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd, and Clyde Stubblefield — drummers who made the song feel great above all else.

I also run a remote recording studio where I produce and record live drums for artists, songwriters, and bands. My work includes production and session credits across genres, including EPs for singer-songwriters, church recordings (including Vineyard Worship UK), and original material available on Spotify and iTunes.

Available For:

  • Live Gigs (UK & international)

  • Tribute Bands / Touring Productions

  • Fly Dates / Dep Gigs

  • Studio Sessions (Remote or In-Person)

"I have worked with Mark on live and recording projects. For both he has been exceptional in his musicianship.

I highly recommend Mark - he is also a nice guy - so easy to work with and always wants to make sure you're happy with his work - & adaptable to make changes."

Rachel Redman - Singer/Songwriter

"I have worked with Mark in a band for over 1.5 years as a worship lead and I find him a real pleasure to work with! He is easy going, humble and a real team player.  He's great at taking the initiative and being prepared but also good at listening to and receiving direction when needed. In short, Mark is a talented drummer but also a great person to work with and I can highly recommend him for any project you might need help with."

Alexandra Moon - Vocalist

"Mark did an excellent job as a professional freelance drummer for the Elton John Tribute Experience band. There was also one song thrown at Mark on the night which was not rehearsed beforehand. Mark took this in his stride, learned the song with short notice and performed that song too with perfection! A very friendly, down to earth guy, years of knowledge and experience and knows his stagecraft. I recommend Mark wholeheartedly. "

Kevin Clay- Elite Elton

"I love working with Mark.  We play together in a band setting.  He is always extremely well prepared – having absolutely done his homework.  And yet he still remains very flexible in the creative process.

He continually challenges himself in a positive way, pushing himself to add even more value each time we meet.  As a result he always comes up with a great drum part that keeps the band together, and helps us know, through his playing, what’s happening next.

Besides all this, he’s just a great person, and very encouraging to people in the band, which helps to bring out the best in musicians and singers."
